Artist's Description

There was an amazing, crazy storm one late afternoon. As soon as it passed (when it was safe to go outside again) I snapped a photo of it. From there I decided to paint this sunset. The colors were just too amazing to not paint! I got out my oils and a nice canvas and went to work. This was a lot more difficult than it might appear. It’s not just some pretty colors swirled together with paint. Some of the paint had to be lifted off the canvas in order to put other colors down. The orange and dark blue/purple was one example. After I had gotten the blues, purples, violet and pink colors down I needed to work some deep orange into the darkest blue/purple area. About KC Pollak

KC Pollak

I have been an artist all my life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I have always loved to draw and paint. My styles have varied over the years from realism to abstract and everything in between. The mediums I most enjoy working with are: oil, prismacolor, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, pen & ink, alcohol ink, and acrylic. Currently I am experiencing a mammoth amount of creative freedom working on abstract art. In 2013 I donated one of my kidneys to a young woman who had only been born with one very diseased kidney. Since then she has been thriving and going to college and living her life. I consider this such a privilege and i'm so happy I was a match for her. I have lived all over the country. I primarily grew up in Woodland...
