Artist's Description

This piece to me is wonderful! It was created on the shiny side of kirkland photo paper. When ink interacts with this side of the paper it doesn’t flow as easily as it does on the other side, which is what I typically use. Interestingly, when you do try to get some interesting shapes you can add alcohol one time and it creates this illusion of depth. But if you keep playing with the color it leaves a sort of stain look behind, which I did not want in this one. It also looks like something created from rock with water erosion. But it’s blue. So … maybe a mineral of some sort? There are incredibly beautiful mineral deposits in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. These are ancient mountains and you just never know what you’ll find once up into the mountains and away from normal trails and away from other people. Going off trail is ofte...

About KC Pollak

KC Pollak

I have been an artist all my life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I have always loved to draw and paint. My styles have varied over the years from realism to abstract and everything in between. The mediums I most enjoy working with are: oil, prismacolor, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, pen & ink, alcohol ink, and acrylic. Currently I am experiencing a mammoth amount of creative freedom working on abstract art. In 2013 I donated one of my kidneys to a young woman who had only been born with one very diseased kidney. Since then she has been thriving and going to college and living her life. I consider this such a privilege and i'm so happy I was a match for her. I have lived all over the country. I primarily grew up in Woodland...
