Everybody loves getting new paint/ink, right? I had gotten a new batch of Art C and was excited to see how they would blend together. I discovered that this ink is the best ink I have ever used! The color is saturated and flows well when you go to work with it. I created this using Australian S-ink paper, which is my favorite surface to work on with alcohol ink as well. It’s just tragic that you can’t find this ink anymore. I have looked and looked and cannot find it anywhere. Truly a shame.
It started out as just a test of the ink then as I was working with it this fun shape emerged. I tried to make it look the same on the bottom as it is on the top, like a mirror image of itself. It also reminds me somewhat of a Rorschach test. You know, those ink blots that people are supposed to say what it looks like without thinking about it and it is supposed to tell you about yourself. I have been an artist all my life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I have always loved to draw and paint. My styles have varied over the years from realism to abstract and everything in between. The mediums I most enjoy working with are: oil, prismacolor, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, pen & ink, alcohol ink, and acrylic. Currently I am experiencing a mammoth amount of creative freedom working on abstract art. In 2013 I donated one of my kidneys to a young woman who had only been born with one very diseased kidney.
