Sumi Sunset canvas print by KC Pollak. Bring your artwork to life with the texture and depth of a stretched canvas print. Artist's Description
Sumi Sunset is was originally an experiment with alcohol ink on canson oil paper using a pallet knife. It was lacking something so, I then decided to use some black india ink with a sumi brush and went in a circular motion around the sunset colors. This one is simple and clean and I absolutely fell in love with it. There will be more of these to come!
Alcohol in and oil paper are not 2 mediums you would think would go together. But they do! It's all in the technique. The pallet knife gives clean edges and alcohol ink is not known for clean edges. It soaks into the oil paper and stays put. It's really interesting. Stay tuned for more...
About KC Pollak
I have been an artist all my life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I have always loved to draw and paint. My styles have varied over the years from realism to abstract and everything in between. The mediums I most enjoy working with are: oil, prismacolor, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, pen & ink, alcohol ink, and acrylic. Currently I am experiencing a mammoth amount of creative freedom working on abstract art. In 2013 I donated one of my kidneys to a young woman who had only been born with one very diseased kidney. Since then she has been thriving and going to college and living her life. I consider this such a privilege and i'm so happy I was a match for her. I have lived all over the country.
