Artist's Description
This is the first of 3 pieces titled Splendid Tempests. The one you’re looking at now was the first creation. The title seems to be an oxymoron. Splendid Tempest? A tempest is a raging storm. But the fact that this is splendid makes it a wonder instead of wind or a raging storm. The colors you see here look like a possible storm but the person standing in the water makes it look calm and well, splendid. A place for contemplation and questions and peace. Storms seem to always bring peace in their wake. No matter how violent they are. As much damage as they can cause, a fresh newness replaces everything. It makes me feel like something splendid is about to happen. Thank you so much for reading this and looking at my art. It touches my soul.
About KC Pollak
I have been an artist all my life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I have always loved to draw and paint. My styles have varied over the years from realism to abstract and everything in between. The mediums I most enjoy working with are: oil, prismacolor, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, pen & ink, alcohol ink, and acrylic. Currently I am experiencing a mammoth amount of creative freedom working on abstract art. In 2013 I donated one of my kidneys to a young woman who had only been born with one very diseased kidney. Since then she has been thriving and going to college and living her life. I consider this such a privilege and i'm so happy I was a match for her. I have lived all over the country. I primarily grew up in Woodland...
