Artist's Description

This piece was originally supposed to be something else. As so often happens with alcohol ink, directions change. Entirely! Once this one started in a different direction, I realized how beautiful and graceful it is. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion with this one. Literally. It took me all day. One small change would lead to another path and that path would formulate into something else. This piece looks simple but it’s anything but simple! The lines you see are very purposeful. The curves are very purposeful. To get alcohol ink to behave the way you want it to; you have to take great care and move very slowly. It’s odd because I felt as thought my entire body and my brain and time were all slowed down. I enjoyed the process of creating this piece so much. Total creative emersion happened here. Thank you so much for looking at Slow Motion. It means everything to me.

About KC Pollak

KC Pollak

I have been an artist all my life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I have always loved to draw and paint. My styles have varied over the years from realism to abstract and everything in between. The mediums I most enjoy working with are: oil, prismacolor, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, pen & ink, alcohol ink, and acrylic. Since then she has been thriving and going to college and living her life. I consider this such a privilege and i'm so happy I was a match for her. I have lived all over the country. I primarily grew up in Woodland...
