Artist's Description

This piece came from a place an experimentation with colors. Typically, I don’t like to use gold, green, and purple in the same piece. I wanted to see if I could use these and not make mud colors in the process. I got my pallet knife out and started playing with one color at a time. As the piece progressed, I would add more color and then take that color up into the prior color … but not too much. Then I got to purple. As you see, it’s directly below the green. Easy to create mud with these if I was not careful. I used minimal strokes and the outcome is lovely! The purple and green have totally worked and the colors transition beautifully. About KC Pollak

KC Pollak

I have been an artist all my life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I have always loved to draw and paint. My styles have varied over the years from realism to abstract and everything in between. The mediums I most enjoy working with are: oil, prismacolor, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, pen & ink, alcohol ink, and acrylic. Currently I am experiencing a mammoth amount of creative freedom working on abstract art. In 2013 I donated one of my kidneys to a young woman who had only been born with one very diseased kidney. Since then she has been thriving and going to college and living her life. I consider this such a privilege and i'm so happy I was a match for her. I have lived all over the country. I primarily grew up in Woodland...
