Artist's Description

This piece is named Oculus due to fact that it looks like an eye, or an eye-like opening. Oxford dictionary defines Oculus: An oculus (plural oculi, from Latin oculus, 'eye') is a circular opening in the center of a dome or in a wall. Originating in antiquity, it is a feature of Byzantine and Neoclassical architecture. This piece was created with alcohol ink and then dry went in with a posca pen for the line details. It’s an interesting piece. It seems static at one glance and sometimes seems to have a lot of motion to it. I can’t decide what my brain has decided. I just really appreciate the fact that you’ve read this. Thanks for looking!

About KC Pollak

KC Pollak

I have been an artist all my life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I have always loved to draw and paint. My styles have varied over the years from realism to abstract and everything in between. The mediums I most enjoy working with are: oil, prismacolor, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, pen & ink, alcohol ink, and acrylic. Currently I am experiencing a mammoth amount of creative freedom working on abstract art. In 2013 I donated one of my kidneys to a young woman who had only been born with one very diseased kidney. Since then she has been thriving and going to college and living her life. I consider this such a privilege and i'm so happy I was a match for her. I have lived all over the country. I primarily grew up in Woodland...
