Artist's Description
This is a larger piece (26" x 20") and I started this with my two favorite colors of alcohol ink (eggplant and flamingo). I wanted a soft, wispy, ethereal look. Working in a larger format enables this to happen due to thinning of the inks over a larger area. I used an airbrush to move the colors around. It's interesting how the eggplant and flamingo colors combined to make the beautiful shade of aqua you see here. Alcohol inks are so interesting in this way. Especially Ranger inks. Many times the colors they make turn into more colors when you re-wet them with alcohol (the main agent in these inks). They contain others colors in them and get activated once you put additional alcohol on them. To me this is endlessly fascinating and sometimes you just never know what you're going to get. About KC Pollak

I have been an artist all my life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I have always loved to draw and paint. My styles have varied over the years from realism to abstract and everything in between. The mediums I most enjoy working with are: oil, prismacolor, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, pen & ink, alcohol ink, and acrylic. Currently I am experiencing a mammoth amount of creative freedom working on abstract art. In 2013 I donated one of my kidneys to a young woman who had only been born with one very diseased kidney. Since then she has been thriving and going to college and living her life. I consider this such a privilege and i'm so happy I was a match for her. I have lived all over the country. I primarily grew up in Woodland...
