Artist's Description
This piece started out as a simple pallet knife piece and ended up quite a busy field of color and streaks! The direction this headed was accidental at first and then was very purposeful. It was a confusing day and by creating this piece it enabled me to get rid of a lot of frustration! It was refreshing. This one is also very bright and vibrant and has a happy feel to it, at least it does to me. What started out as frustration ended as feel good.
Some of the color in this one came out as a result of putting 'snow cap' alcohol ink over the black and other colors. Some vibrancy came out through this white. Alcohol ink does not react the same way as paint or india ink. It generally repels if you put a lighter color over a darker color. It moves color below it out of the way. That's exactly what happened here. It's always an exercise in allowing yourself to not have full control over the art. Alcohol ink enables me to free myself up and enjoy the process, entirely!
About KC Pollak

I have been an artist all my life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I have always loved to draw and paint. My styles have varied over the years from realism to abstract and everything in between. The mediums I most enjoy working with are: oil, prismacolor, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, pen & ink, alcohol ink, and acrylic. Currently I am experiencing a mammoth amount of creative freedom working on abstract art. In 2013 I donated one of my kidneys to a young woman who had only been born with one very diseased kidney. Since then she has been thriving and going to college and living her life. I consider this such a privilege and i'm so happy I was a match for her. I have lived all over the country. I primarily grew up in Woodland...
