Drawing - Prismacolor And Pen & Ink On Illustration Board
Description
This piece was done over the course of several months. From the time I was a little girl I have always kept a sort of unorganized dream journal. I had always intended to do several paintings/drawings portraying them. One day I decided to put them all into one big piece and blend them into each other. Very slowly I started drawing them out with pencil. From there I used pen & ink and Prismacolor colored pencils to color bring them to life. This was a very interesting process. It dredged up some strange things emotionally. It freed me in some ways. It was part of my brain’s subconscious now coming out into the light of day. Yikes! Not sure I should subject the world to this, but, here goes. A lot of these dreams are scary, and all are strange, as all my dreams are … just plain strange! Besides, aren’t the scary and strange ones the ones you remember most? Who remembers a dream about an average day doing average things (as if that even happens!)? Here is a glimpse into head over the course of 40+ years. Some of these dreams were recurring ones and once drew them they stopped completely. In most cases that’s a good thing. Some of them, however, I looked forward to and wish to this day that I could have them again. Interesting how our mind works, isn’t it? If you ever want detailed descriptions on any of these just send me a message. I will explain detail. I don’t think there is enough room in the description area for all that info. But trust me … they’re weird!
