Change is here I have a different approach to art now days. Instead of looking at my work from the vantage point of ‘would someone else like this?’ … it’s simply for me. Do I like it? If yes, I keep it. If no, I ditch it. Simple as that. It’s also a little deeper than that in terms of how I start or finish something. I have a style I’m investigating right now. It’s something I happened upon by accident and turned out to be something I really like. I’m going to continue in this direction for a while and see what happens. It’s also part of the fact that I feel something shifting in my life. It was a small shift and has now turned into a big one. And I’m not exactly sure what it is. My art reflects this shift. Everything from the way I start, to the way I work on a piece, to the way I finish one, is different now. I have been an artist all my life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I have always loved to draw and paint. My styles have varied over the years from realism to abstract and everything in between. The mediums I most enjoy working with are: oil, prismacolor, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, pen & ink, alcohol ink, and acrylic. Currently I am experiencing a mammoth amount of creative freedom working on abstract art. In 2013 I donated one of my kidneys to a young woman who had only been born with one very diseased kidney.
