Artist's Description
This piece is called ‘Blue Eyes’ for obvious reasons. It’s a combination of faces and of things I loved from about 3 different babies. If it happens to look like a baby you know, this is purely coincidence, I promise. I wanted the challenge of painting a child’s face. There are many challenges to this! It’s very different than an adult’s face. The lines must be soft and the lighting has to be soft as well (but not flat) as not to make the baby look odd, or older. This one took me about three weeks of off and on. I really took my time and did a lot of stepping back to double-check my work. This baby has an impish grin on its face and it makes me want to hug this little one!
About KC Pollak

I have been an artist all my life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I have always loved to draw and paint. My styles have varied over the years from realism to abstract and everything in between. The mediums I most enjoy working with are: oil, prismacolor, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, pen & ink, alcohol ink, and acrylic. Currently I am experiencing a mammoth amount of creative freedom working on abstract art. In 2013 I donated one of my kidneys to a young woman who had only been born with one very diseased kidney. Since then she has been thriving and going to college and living her life. I consider this such a privilege and i'm so happy I was a match for her. I have lived all over the country. I primarily grew up in Woodland...
