Painting - Alcohol Ink And Posca Paint Pen On Yard Sign

All colors lead to ... ? Where? That's still waiting for an answer. One interesting note before I describe this painting ... I occasionally use yard signs to do my alcohol ink pieces on. They are the perfect surface! They are opaque enough that you cannot see the yard sign through the art. You might think this is a bit strange, no doubt. However, the surface of these signs is wonderful for alcohol ink. The ink moves well and it is a material that won't degrade over time. Also the bigger size seems to be a great size for art. Not too small, not too big. Just right. And yes, if purchase the original, it is on a yard sign. Says 'no trespassing' on the back. How cool that?

This piece involves alcohol ink and posca paint pen for detailing. Initially this one was going to be a narrow colorful path across the paper and was going to leave lots of negative space. Now there is anything but negative space. But I think the way the colors dissolve out to the edges in soft wisps make the eye feel that there is more negative space than there really is. Then the details start emerging. From the center out to the edges, the details differ as the color lessens. There is detail in the softest, lightest area. There is detail in the darkest, most saturated area. Look closely at this one. There are things to see at every level.
